While it's fun to dream about paying for our coffee with our Balenciaga coin purse that we carry around in our vintage Chanel crossbody, let's be honest - things like that aren't really in our budget.
It's easy to find a black and white satchel that sort of looks like the Celine that you fell in love with online (7 months ago) - and with that, you can easily trick the untrained eye. But what do you do when you really want that new Mulberry backpack that you saw Cara Delevingne toting around? Those types of bags don't grow on trees.
I've been keeping up with the latest street style and runways for FW2015 fashion weeks (or at least doing my best) and have chosen some of those "aw that's so cute but I could never find anything like it at an affordable price" bags. I consider "affordable" under $100, but I try to lean more toward $50. We're hardworking women - and whether we're in college, planning a wedding, supporting a family, or focusing on a career, we just don't have the cash to shell out for the latest high-end trends. *sigh.*
Now, while these affordable versions of our unique dream bags aren't spot on replicas, I based my comparisons on functionality, color, shape, and size. If you're not satisfied with the affordable versions of your designer favorites, please comment below and I'd be happy to do some revisions (or help you look for a bag of your own! My contact information is under the "Portfolio Etc" tag at the top of the page.)
So, go ahead and check out some of my favorites from the past few weeks. There are a million to choose from and I wish I could look for them all, but alas, I am a full time student with two part time jobs and a blog.
(And for the record, I'm not a fan of the pom pom trend -- so I won't be posting about it. Google it, it's a huge thing right now.)
So, here goes. Enjoy!

Prada ready-to-wear runway FW2015 Photo Credit The crocodile look is a classic one - so pair it with two huge trends! I chose a block-heel sandal and a boyfriend coat, which are both huge in street style right now. How would you style this bag? Comment below! (And yes -- with the right attitude, and maybe a pair of opaque tights, you can pull off the sandal+coat look.) |
By the way guys, I'm still taking suggestions for posts! Comment below or tweet me @MollyInBlack!
